Try coffee in Antique Cafe, its great. Prices are also not very high. Its a nice coffee shop in that street.
I come here because it's in my neighborhood, and any which way I order my omelet, it's always great and generous proportion. My friends and I usually have a pretty good time here, we come on weekends, and the service is pretty quick. You usually don't have to wait long for a table. Personal favorite on the brunch menu: omelets with brie and spinach, eggs florentine, and the paninis. All are to me the best. Avoid the pancakes. They should rethink those and give them a little more flavor. Good jazz usually, and good relaxed environment.
When rushing along 6th avenue feeling hungry or in need of a coffee fix, be sure to take a detour down 26th heading toward Broadway. Behind the corner high rise is a little jewel of a place, known as Antique Cafe. It's a better alternative to the ubiquitous Starbucks, though not necessarily less expensive. The trade off, however, is a great menu, and an elegant dining experience all the while retaining a mom and pop feel. It's a great spot to unwind, I love coming here after shopping to relax and read.
