This would not be the first place I would look for when it comes to Jamaican food but it is sufficient for the pretentious and tourists. Personally, I go to Church ave or East New York for some authentic Jamaican food without the bells and whistles. The crowd is pretentious, the food is pretentious and the prices are very pretentious. I end up here 2-3 times a year just because my friends want to eat there when we are in the city but if I were to take someone to have some real Jamaican food, it would have to be in Brooklyn.
The food there is ok. It's a bit pricey though. You can go to a fast food Caribbean restaurant for half price with twice as much food. The manager was very courteous and took into consideration of my mother's low sodium content. I would give it another shot.
