could be better: The food is pretty good, but would be better if they didn't cut corners. I ordered calf's liver the other day, and was served beef liver, drenched in a very generous serving of a very strong balsamic sauce, designed to mask the taste. The coffee is at least half chicory. In that sense, its very much like a cheap French bistro, which would probably do the same. It has a certain sense of authenticity, but often disappoints. Shame, as it is a neighbourhood restaurant of mine, and I wish it could be just a little bit better... I would go there all the time.

French Comfort Food: If you're looking for glitz a haughty attitude look elsewhere. This would be a typical neighborhood restaurant, if you lived in the south-west of France.

In addition to a brief but serviceable menu, there is a blackboard with numerous daily specials. In a dozen visits, I've yet to have a bad meal. Not fancy, but good authentic French food. The wine list is more than serviceable and includes a number of half bottle on offer. My only hesitation in recommending this restaurant is the desire to keep it from getting too popular. Its been a pleasure to stop by without reservations and be seated immediately.
