Though the bands aren't ones that you are likely to see on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine anytime soon, they are very talented. The varied groups change out its singers and can play anything from Fleetwood Mac to Bonnie Tyler to Bob Marley. As house bands go, they are a cut above and the energy definitely picks up when they start playing. The staff is friendly and as attentive as they can be in such a busy place. If you can handle the cozy surroundings, you'll probably have a great time here. Stop by on Wednesday or Sunday, when there is no cover, and get there before 10 to get the best seats.
I'm from Rochester, N.Y. I went to NYC last memorial weekend in 2007 to visit two old friends. We heard Brazilian music and the botella song. Then came in for the price of one.I enjoyed the music and the drinks are awesome. I had a good time. Not a big place but is a cozy underground place to chill.
Tuesday nites at Cafe Wha? Disfunktion Tuesdays, $10 cover plus a 2 drink minimum .... worth it. The Cafe Wha band was jammin all nite; there is hardly anywhere to dance ... but everyone was up out of their seats dancing!!! Food was decent, usual fare: Chicken wings, Nachos ect. Drinks were good .... try the Whatini.
Been to Wha a few times when in NYC and love it. The Cafe Wha band is definitely a talented group of entertainers. Don't miss this place if you on vacation and looking for an entertaining club with live interactive music.
