Magnificent New York brick-oven pizza with fresh toppings makes this cramped, noisy pizza parlor with an overworked staff worth going to. Weather permitting, dining in the backyard garden improves the experience significantly. Some even claim Lombardi's serves the best pizza in the five boroughs. Try it yourself and join one of the oldest debates in New York City. The pizza heaped with fresh chopped clams is certainly a slice to remember. Reservations are not accepted.
OH MY! Was it ever wonderful! I was in NYC for 3 days with my daughters, we ate lunch there on the first day. It was sooo good we had to go back again before we left!
Went here on our honeymoon from Louisiana because I did some research and read that this was a very famous place and even celebrities rave on their pizza. I thought we should try some real NY pizza before we leave for lunch.
Average... Maybe it is because I am from Lousiana, but I was just not over the top about this pizza. It was definitely good, but that's it. I expected more. They didn't put nearly enough cheese on it, so it looked as though it was mostly sauce with a little bit of cheese.
It was a nice experience to say we have been there, but I can say that we will probably never go there again. It just didn't make a lasting impression. The one great thing I can say about this place, was that they did get out food out very quickly, I was shocked at the speed.
i was really dissapointed with both the original and the white pizza that we ordered yesterday . This place has really changed since the last time that my family had stopped by .. I am a New Yorker, been living in N.J for the past 14 years, i travel just about anywhere for a good slice of pizza, i am really not coming back to Lombardis... The original pizze was very dry, hardly any chesses, what is up with this?? You call that pizza... I can get a better slice in CHINATOWN ...Now the white pizza , was even worse -- talk about dry, tasted a few days old, prepared in advance, with a few splats of Ricotta, to make it look pretty!! NONSENSE!!
