Company Information: This overnight success is owner David Bouley's ode to late-19th century Austrian cuisine. Chef Mario Lohninger has created a menu that fits the restaurant's unusual theme. Wiener Schnitzel and Beef Goulash are available, as are Braised Beef Cheeks in Zweigelt Wine Sauce and Pike in Hazelnut Sauce. There are also some more modern dishes such as Tuna Tartare. Rich desserts like Apple Strudel add the perfect touch to your meal. The decor is the real attraction however, with comfortable seating in an elegant old world setting. Rich draperies and reproductions of Klimt paintings complete the fantasy.

   Can you say PERFECT: Worth the $20 drinks and the $100 pasta! My hat is off to any place that can charge the kind of scratch they do for this stuff.

   Danube - Five Stars: A wonderful Mesclun Salad and a Liwanzen with Poppy Seed Ice Cream, but fewer vegetarian items than I'd like.
