Tourist trap !
Went to Paradou for brunch on 1/27/08 and had a HORRIBLE experience. My girlfriend and I arrived before other members of our party so we were told that they couldn't seat us until the entire party was present. That is understandable but they have only have a little bar in the middle of the restaurant to wait and 3 employees were busy talking at the bar. We went over there to see if they might move because it was 30 degrees outside and we didnt want to wait outside, and they wouldnt make room for us at the bar to wait for the other people in our party. We stood outside in the cold for about 10 minutes and finally our friends arrived so we were seated. As they served us, the waited spilled water all over my friend and never came back with a towel or extra napkins to dry him off. Then the waiter comes back with coffee and spills a whole cup on the same person. We dried him up and they took our orders. An hour later our food wasnt present and we complained to the manager. She said there was nothing she could do. The food arrived 5 minutes later and the medium rare steak and eggs that 2 of us ordered were overcooked and completely grey in color. We complained about the food and they did give us one free entree but it definately was not worth the price or the wait.
Pretty good atmosphere, but not worth the price: I went to Paradou with my boyfriend for a dinner on a Saturday night. They put us to the backroom called "the Magic Garden" and ambiance is great there. The waitress is extremely helpful and nice, and offered a lot of ideas from the menu. Everything seemed pretty good, until the food came - I can't say it's bad, but with such prices and decoration and service, it's really quite disappointing. Cold duck breast, some weird tasting lavendar rice, over sweet chocolate mousse and tasteless red wine (that costs $18/glass)...I guess we would have a better food experience with the $100 spent.
