| About: | This Curry Hill mainstay is a favorite of New York City taxi drivers, many of whom are of South Asian origin. They tend to flock to Haandi to enjoy the authentic home-style cooking that the restaurant is famous for. The menu at Haandi features several popular North Indian and Pakistani dishes like Chicken Makhni (chicken curry made with butter), Goat Curry, Saag (a dish made with mustard greens), and Mutter Paneerall of which are eaten with piping hot Indian breads like Naan, Rotis, and a variety of Parathas. Haandi's repertoire also includes several Tandoori specialties like Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Tikka. Haandi enthusiasts consider it to be the real deal as the food served here has not yet been Americanized in any way. - Anjeeta Nayar |

Authentic: Good spice right price.
Like a taste of Pakistan: Never anywhere in the world outside of Pakistan have I tasted food so authentic. The ambience is that of a roadside cafe, the diners are mostly taxi drivers, and if you ask what's not spicy, they'll say "white rice". It's a can't miss perfect representation of the best Pakistani food money can buy!
Every Night: Great food, hole in the wall type of joint, but never have we regretting eating here. This is the regular joint, whenever there is not food in the house or don't feel like cooking, Haandi it is.
