As the son of the Naples born parents Salvatore spent many hours in the kitchen learning to cook and refining the same Northern Italian recipes in both of his restaurants.Before opening Coppola's on 79th Street, Salvatore trained in New York City Restaurants quickly becoming Executive Sous Chef. In 1986, using family recipes opened Trattoria Coppola, which soon after became a staple for dining on New York's Upper West Side and earned him a 5 Star Diamond Award in 1997.
