| About: | The Roosevelt, an art deco hotel, was built in 1924 and named after president Theodore Roosevelt. Bandleader Guy Lombardo helped in making the hotel famous by broadcasting from the Roosevelt Grill on countless New Year's Eves, but by the 1970s it had fallen on harder times. However, it was completely renovated in 1997. The hotel now features modern amenities, handsome rooms, a beautiful lobby and a perfect location for access to plays, restaurants and shops in the area. Refrigerator and microwave available in all rooms. |

Great "NY hotel expeience" place. Rooms are very small so don't expect much there but they're clean & price is reasonable by NY standards. Great bar right off the lobby & the bartyenders know their NY sports. Hotel is right in the middle of everything. For the money, you can't beat this place.
If you are a guest riding in a Limo or ready to throw your money around like flower petals, you will get your A$$ licked, cleaned and will have a wonderful experience but if you are a normal guy like myself you will get ignored and have to deal with the rude behavior of the hotel staff. If my company didn't pay for the 2 nights I was there, I would never stay at this hotel.
beautiful lobby, but rooms small: The lobby is beautiful and looks very regal. They use Bath and Body Works for their shampoo, condition, lotion and soap. Pretty much you're paying for location, as it is walking distance to Times Square and a subway station is just 3 blocks away. The concierge can also help you out with making reservations at restaurants.
However don't expect anything grand with the bedroom. The rooms are very small and fits only a bed, desk and TV. Bathrooms are just as tiny and don't resemble the rest of the hotel. Also, I experienced slow service where we requested an iron and had to call 3 times before finally going down to the front desk to request it ourselves.
Overall a decent stay with great location.
