Company Information: Soup lovers take stock of this casual French Midtown charmer, which offers a warm and comfortable setting and seasonal outdoor dining. Exceptional soups like mushroom, lamb with barley, and cream of vegetable attract soup lovers from all over. For those in the mood for other dishes, the restaurant also serves quiche, omelets, fondues and salads. So when you are tired from shopping on Fifth Avenue or visiting the nearby Museum of Modern Art , settle down for lunch or dinner.

Small but Quaint: We love to go to this restaurant. It's very tiny but the food is very good. Our favorites are the french onion soup, escargot and fondues. If you go...order the cheese fondue with baguette and the chocolate fondue for dessert!!!
A Marvelous French Choice: As you may guess by the name, La Bonne Soupe's specialty is soup. The prie-fixe menu is a steal for the area, only costing $14, including a glass of beer or wine, and good liquor at that, not the dregs or leftovers. The soups are excellent all around (especially the French Onion), and even the non-soup choices, like the filet mignon, are just as well-done. The interior is earthy and tries to transport you to a sleepy village in Normandy. The three upstairs outdoor tables are perfect in the summer and are good date choices, since they are somewhat secluded and private. Of all the restaurants in Manhattan, this is the one I frequent the most.
Fondue heaven: They make great soups, and excellent fondues, both cheese and chocolate. A must-go.
