Company Information: Sosa Borella was established in 1995 in Tribeca. The first of two locations began as a quaint Italian-Argentinian Cafe that blossomed into a full service Restaurant, including lunch, dinner, brunch delivery service and off premise catering within two years of conception. Now, 8 years later Sosa Borella expands its recipe for wholesome food, large portions and great dining atmosphere with a personal touch to the pallets of Manhattans' Theater District. With Sosa's keen sense of design, the clean lines give Sosa Borella an inviting open airy feeling the moment you walk through the door, and yet the comfort and style of a cozy Argentinean Estancia, are seen through the white walls, exposed beams and cement color stucco on the columns, the custom made dark wood tables, the soft glow of lampshade chandeliers, wall stacked with coffee bags, wines and Argentinean memorabilia. The dress code at Sosa Borella is "New York" casual, which means you may find Christina Aguilera, J.Lo, Al Pac

I have been to this restaurant on about 6 occasions in the past year both pre theater & after theater. For the price, the food is very good is good (not the best in NYC, but you could do much worse in a pinch), the service is very efficient & pleasant. The atmosphere is nice as well. (The upstairs room is very nice too and they usually have candles on the staircase for a nice touch.)
Seems like they have several neighborhood locals that dine here (from conversations I've overheard) which is always a good sign.
I've directed several out of town guests to this place for a good pre-theater option & all have been extremely happy with their meals.
Zagat gives them good marks as well.
the mouse: As we (5 women pre-theater) were finishing our pasta , a mouse scurried by us. We made3 the waitress aware of the rodent's presence . The news did not affect her in the least. It was not until the brown mouse appeared again that we really became eager to leave . As we left the restaurant I asked to speak to the manager. He was tending bar and responded he was the manager. I indicated that I did not plan on dinning with a mouse he commented "oh this is New York City". He also indicated that he was aware of this mouse. I have been dinning for quite a while in many NYC establishments and I am aware of the NYC eateries plight but I have never had someone tell me that's okay. I do hope that others will visit another establishment as this is not the way to treat customers.
Great Mid-town place for dinner & drinks: I was turned on to Sosa Borella by my friend Ramon. Owned by an Argentinian guy whose name I can't remember, they have a great selection of red wines - including Malbec's of course. Great vibe, and friendly staff. Nice bar to just have drinks after work and an excellent menu if you are out for dinner. Calamari salad and churrasco are two of my favorites.
