| About: | Charlie Palmer's signature Progressive American cuisine first took root in the original townhouse location of Aureole, where the chef made an early commitment to farm over factory food. Today, Aureole continues to shine at One Bryant Park under the kitchen leadership of Michelin-starred Executive Chef Christopher Lee. Dining at the contemporary Aureole is staged in two venues: the formal Dining Room and more casual Bar Room. In the Dining Room, terra-rich colors and golden lighting combine to create a comfortable environment and opulent warm glow, reminiscent of Aureole's original townhouse intimacy. Evening guests may select from a 3-course prix fixe or Parallel Tasting dinner menu. For lunch, a seasonal 3-course prix fixe menu is available and a la carte selections. WOW! BEST RESTAURANT IN MANHATTAN! Don't let the entry way to this restaurant fool you. When we came in we saw the noisy crowded, touristy bar area and even saw tourists coming in and out wearing what seemed to be inappropriate clothing for such a nice restaurant. But the hostess took us back to the dining area away from the bar and it became the place we were expecting. Fresh flowers were on the tables and service stations. Nicely dressed guests enjoying a beautiful, luxurious and romantic dinner. What an amazing dining experience! We ordered off of the price fixe menu and received the items we were expecting but they also brought out extras and gave us %15 off the bill due to "soft opening"! The scallop "sandwich" appetizer was the most incredible medley of flavors I have ever eaten, orgasmic! The pre-appetizer scallop ceviche with coconut cream was a delicious; a heavenly combination. I had the lobster and pork belly for the main entree. The pork belly tasted more like the most flavorful and tender roast you have ever eaten and the lobster was delicious too with its combination of spinach and almond foam. The staff and service were THE BEST I have ever seen or experienced in NY. Highly attentive and courteous waitstaff (not stuffy at all but still proper). We ordered half bottles of Krug champagne on the menu and they were perfect. It was also my birthday and they brought out my desert with a candle and sneakily put my boyfriend's gift to me on a plate with a silver dome. I highly recommend the corn souffle with blueberries, but the chocolate cake desert with a gold flake in the middle was to die for too. This was followed with surprise donuts, gourmet chocolates and cookies selection, tea and also a take home bakery item (a lemon madeline in a cute little package).

a most romantic room: the food is superb, but the ambiance is what I treaured the most!
