Best outside chinatown: I've been to this place many times now after trips to the Nat. History Museum, and I've never been let down. This has got to be some of the best Chinese food in NYC outside of Chinatown. The food is GREAT, and some of the dishes are unique and original, like the Jade Shrimp. The environment is crowded, busy and bustling like Chinatown, and the waiters don't speak English well, but for the Food its definitely worth the slight hustle and crampyness. The whole place is decorated with celebrity endorsement, and rightfully so. Try the Jade Shrimp or the Steamed chicken with vegetables, its all very fresh and tasty and the sauce isn't overbearing. The prices here are very reasonable...ESPECIALLY FOR NYC! Two people can gorge themselves for the price of a normal 4 or 5 person dinner at most places in NJ such as Lotus Cafe or Cheng Du. This place is really a good find....and to think I originally checked it out as a last resort only because the surrounding Italian restaurants had astronomical wait times or exorbitant pricing....now Hunan Park is usually my first choice for city eating, unless I'm really in the mood to spend $.

good wholesome chinese food: it's a step above the rest. eat in or take out at this amazing, cheap chinese joint thats open late. the service is good and the food is better!
