About:Open on the Upper West Side for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, Le Monde offers a world of dishes for the glory of France. From es cargot to poisson to bouillabaisse (at least on Sundays), to pommes frites and legumes, Le Monde has it covered for all things French. The service could be better, but that's part of the Francophone experience. Le Monde houses a large space and caters to large groups if needed. Brunch easily gets packed, and the long wooden bar is a nice space for a pre-dinner drink. Brush up on your Franglais and snootiness and enjoy. - Wynne Boelt

Nice and affordable French restaurant in UWS: Le Monde is one of 7 restaurants called Tour de France (http://www.tourdefrancenyc.com/) and is supposed to specialize in Cuisine of the Loire Valley. I had my first l'escargot here, which was quite delicious in rich buttery sauce. Only complaint I have is that I felt the service was little lacking.

Le Monde - consistently good: Living nearby this steady French spot, we have always found it quite good. Though we are not huge fans of the more frenchy-french fare, our friends who have tried it do like it. There is something on the menu for anyone - e.g. the various burgers (vege, turkey, beef) are all outstanding, as is the mushroom-infused ravioi.

Weekend brunch under the sun at a sidewalk table is optimal, though often lines form around 10am, as the wait to snag a good table for the 10:30am opening heats up. Enjoyable people-watching available along this western strip of upper Broadway.

Try the hard cider, comes in a large bottle. Also, many good belgian beers to be had. Lots of way to enjoy this place - try it out.
