Just a great beer joint: If you're looking for a pub on that holds true to many New York steriotypes, without appearing to consciously exaggerate behavior in order to present those steriotypes, then welcome to the Dublin Room. Located just a few short blocks from Central Park on west 79th street (just down the street from the Museum of Natural History) and less than one block up from the 1 trains west 79th stop, this bar is not only a great time, but nicely located as well. Don't expect anyone to park your car, hold the door, or great you with a fond hello. This is no place to bring Mr. Fancypants. This is just an old fashioned beer dive that combines seedy with security. Mixed drinks are available (I recommend the Maker's Mark whisky sour), as well as a large beer selection. If you have had a little too much fun, and don't feel like the journey home, just down the street is a nasty little hotel called the Imperial Court (307 west 79th) Rooms start at 89 bucks a night. Not to shabby for those familar with normal Manhattan rates.
