I loved this place and they serve the best senegalese food. You should ty their Yassa chicken or the traditional dish tchep boudjeun without tomato with this special spinach sauce called "bissap" delicisous. Evrytime I am in New york, I have to stop by and have some of their food. Dinner is delicious try the Dibi or Dakhine with some citrus on the side.
the staff is friendly and the decor just reminds you of senegal.
The best Senegalese restaurant in New York! Period: I haven't seen the new decor. The restaurant was under renovation the last time I was in New York so I can't say much about the decor but that is not what matters at Africa's. They serve the best Senegalese food ever. Ever!
I found a great place here in Los Angeles too, Le Teranga on Crenshaw Blvd, but when I'm in New York I always have to have a Thie Bou Dien (a.k.a Tchep djen or just Tchep), the official Senegalese dish, made "Africa" style.
The staff is friendly and welcoming. The service is slow but hey, it's done the African way.
The food is cooked to order and just delightful.
The place is always crowed and very mixed: Senegalese people, other African nationalities, French people both black and white, American people, people from everywhere and from all walks of life. I so love "Africa" and Africa!
I, of course, recommend this restaurant to everyone: those who love West African dishes and those who want to try something new. You won't be disappointed!
