About:This longtime French bistro has a tradition of caring service and excellent food. In the softly lit space, framed oil paintings, fresh flowers, pastel linens and well-spaced tables contribute to a serene atmosphere. The prix-fixe menu ($35) is the best way to experience the food. Appetizers include Ravioli du Chef, which is stuffed with spinach and ricotta, basil and tomatoes. The namesake Le Boeuf a la Mode is braised beef marinated in red wine and served with vegetables.

    Le Boeuf - like it was, still is and should be: I've been coming to Le Boeuf for more than 30 years. It was easy because I lived two blocks away at 75 East End with my parents. But now that I'm on the "Left Coast", my NYC trips still mandate Le Boeuf. This is a very comfortable and unassuming place, still family run, that provides cuisine and service that will meet high expectations. It's a place where you will immediately feel comfortable and where you can relax, enjoy great french cuisine without any pretense or disappointments. Situated in the a very quiet part of "town", which again adds to your ability to unwind and enjoy.

    Pros: Excellent cuisine and personal service

    Cons: I can't think of even one.
