User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI and my son, Matthew walked into the ASPCA without expectation....( I wanted to prepare him for the unthinkable...leaving without a pet) and we did. We went home discussing many issues as usual however BUD kept creeping in to conversation. somehow or another BUD won our hearts. The very next dy we ventured into MANHATTAN just to get a glimse of him. I am very pleased to announce that Bud celebrated his 1st year on earth in August 2007. He has housemates, too! Mr. Minky(rabbit) and stray Ms. MIDNIGHT MODEM.... a furry little creature handed to us on the sidewalks of throggs neck blvd. Weare a happy family now thanks to you (aspca) and thanks to you ( one Hisanic adult male carrying a kitten in a box. Minky is socializing finally. I would like to speak with th the person who had us joined together!!!!!!!!!!PLEASE

User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsindefinite telephone wait at the aspca: I had a very sick animal. It needed emergeny medical attention. I called aspca during normal business hours to try and schedule an appointment. I was put on hold for 10 minutes during which a voice came in every minute saying your call is very important to us. Finally the phone rang and am automated voice came in again telling me your call is important to us. After 20 minutes a voice finally answered. [30 minute total wait]. I was told to bring the animal for an emergency visit for which I would be charged $100 dollars admission or I could wait to next week and make a regular appointment for $70 dollars. This humane non profit organization charges more than private veteranians. Their commitment to the health and welfare of animals comes with a high Park or 5th ave. price tag.
