Peppinos Pizza

Peppino's Pizza in Balwin Place, on the Putnam and Westchester Counties border is a nice family pizza place with a good assortment of designer pizzas as well as good old standby Italian dishes. The restaurant is located just off Rte. 118 within the shopping center. Parking is available and the place is at street level.
The dining room is a one-room affair with small tables and booths. In a pinch, a party of maybe 8 could be accommodated with a bit of furniture rearrangement.
Pizza, calzones and similar items are of a nice quality. The cheese is not overly salty and the ingredients, in general, are of pretty good quality, but mushrooms may not be fresh.
Peppino's offers nice lunch specials, and often one lunch could serve two, unless they are very hungry.
Dinners are priced pretty much the same as other local Italian restaurants that may provide a bit more ambiance than this place which is fine for a quick lunch.
In short, my suggestion is to give Peppino's a try if you have not yet visited them and then decide for yourself whether this will be your default pizza place if you are a local without such a destination location. I think that you will like their pizza.
Credit cards are accepted and the restrooms are fine.
