| About: | The Larchmont Tavern opened in 1933 with owner Michael Bruno greeting his patrons in a single room of nine tables. His wife, Raffaela, cooked the meals in her kitchen upstairs. The couple lived over the Tavern in a five room apartment with their eleven children. Two generations of the Bruno family were born in that apartment. Serving their customers became a family affair for all of the Bruno family members. Over the years the original space has expanded to its current structure. It was originally open only for lunch offering one selection each day. The Tavern now serves a full menu of quality home cooking for both lunch and dinner seven days a week. Current proprietors, Arthur Jacobson (a Larchmont native) and Martin Krouner are proud of the LT's history and share the same dedication to its loyal customers. |

Big menu, lots of options. I liked the atmosphere of LT, but it was mostly basic pub food. I ordered fish & chips, which is always my test for pubs. It was ok; not the best or worst ever. I wouldn't order it again, but I'd go back because the huge menu gave everyone in my family something to choose from.
Meg Dowd: I love this place because they have good food and great service. Their waiters and waitresses are especially friendly, including Kathy and Sal.
The only place in town: What fun. Terrific food. The best steak and Steamers in town. Fresh Roast Beef and seafood. Cold beer and reasonable wine list. Like going to a friends house
