Fantastic Pizza! We only order from Sal's when we are in Ossining!

Sal's Pizza has been a favorite place of mine, especially for take-out dinners. If I visit the store for a quick slice, I stay, of course. Pizza of whatever species you find there is excellent if you are used to NY style pie. Calzones and vegetable rolls (eggplant, spinach etc.) are very good as well. For take-out dinners, my wife generally gets her way because we have enough food for both of us and sometimes even a bit more. Our dinner choices come with a side salad and a small loaf of bread. The bread is above average in quality and taste. The salad is not interesting, but it works well with this type of food. No frills with the greens.
If you want to dine in, be prepared for a real neighborhood pizza place. The tables are the usual and there is no real table service. This is not a place to bring a corporate business client to unless he or she really prefers food to ambiance. It's ok at Sal's to lick fingers (the napkins are the usual pizza place wipes, of course).
When it's busy, you may have to wait for your order to arrive, so call ahead and enjoy. They do have local delivery if you need that. Parking can be tight and there is no street parking on Highland Ave., so take someone along if you're picking up an order to go.
Sal's is located in Ossining,NY, on Highland Ave. which is also State Route 9. The business has had three owners, each keeping the name, menu and recipes about the same. The latest owner has a Web site that I may add here when I find its URL. There are no steps and credit cards are now accepted.

Best Pizza in Town: Sal's was there for my wife when she was pregnant and having cravings. Sal's food is clean and they serve the best pizza in town.
