I just ordered a sandwich from Nicky’s and had to let the world know about this pathetic enterprise. I ordered the Italian combo, which is listed on the menu at about $9 – a little pricey, but people in my office rave about the pizza, so I went ahead. The woman behind the counter asked whether I wanted lettuce/tomato, onions, oil/vinegar, or anything else on it. I didn’t even stop to think…I said, Sure, I’ll have everything with hot peppers. She called the order in, punched her cash register, and handed me a check for $13.46. Huh? Turns out that THEY CHARGE FOR LETTUCE AND FOR TOMATO AND FOR OIL AND FOR VINEGAR…$0.50 per item. Thirteen and half bucks for an Italian combo!?!? OK, this is the most I’ve ever paid for a sandwich I’ve ordered everywhere, but let’s give it a shot…maybe it will be the best ever. I give her a twenty, she hands back $6.50. OK, it’s only four cents short, that ain’t gonna change my life, but at least ask me, ya know? Ten minutes later, out comes my wrapped sandwich. I thank her and head back to the office. And here comes the clincher. No, it’s not that the three tomato slice were so thin that I could see through them. No, it’s not that the sandwich had maybe one-quarter pound of tasteless cold cuts on it. It’s this: IT WAS SLATHERED IN MAYONNAISE! What self-respecting Italian puts mayo on an Italian combo? I’m stunned, and after scraping away the mayo, and therefore most of the bread, and then finshing this pathetic excuse for a sandwich, I’m hungry. So the moral of the story: stick to the pizza.

Nicky's is fantastic. I found this place while stuck at work late one night several years back and have been going ever since. The wait staff remembers all faces and what you usually order. Do we here "Cheers" here?
I highly recommend the the White Pizza and Antipasto with Gorganzola crumbles.
