Monroe Diner

I went to the Monroe Diner today, and it was one of the bigger MISTAKES of my life, let me tell you why. First off, when I arrived, the Manager looked around and it's as if he didn't even noticed that I, or the other patron were even there. When I stepped up, it's only then he noticed. Unfortunately, for him and this review, that was the LEAST of my problems with this decrepit excuse of an establishment.

I received my menu, and my water. When the waitress came over to take my order, I was studying the menu as it was my first time there. So out of spite of not being ready with my order, she treated me like some second-rate customer, coming back 10-15 minutes later. AND that was only after I had made eye contact with pretty much all of the staff. Thankfully, an older lady had told the Waitress that I was sitting there, waiting.

After I had ordered my food, it was rushed from the kitchen. On the menu, it stated the Reuben was to have Russian Dressing, and yet, there was none at all. The Reuben had to be, by far, the WORST i've ever had in my life. No flavor, dry and rough. I didn't eat the rest of the Reuben, because it was that bad. Thankfully the fries were the only decent part of the meal. Then again, how hard is it to screw up french fries?

The waitress, who seemed to have a miserable attitude, managed to ask all the tables around me how their food was, and if they needed anything else. Yet, when I needed a refill on my drink, she didn't ask, I HAD TO ASK. I thought the whole reason to go out to eat was to be WAITED ON. I felt I would have received better service if I had helped myself.

Now, i'll tell you why I'm an established Critic: I've been to restaurants all around the area, many in Monroe especially. I've been to places ranging from the Chester Diner, to Hacienda. From Red Lobster, to Fratellos. From Wild Fire in Montgomery, to Magoya in Chester. And in my 20+ Years of dining, very rarely have I seen such deplorable and despicable service. Our servers, at any other restaurant are nice, helpful and respectful, and as a result, are left a tip according to the great service we receive. My family and I are not hard people to please, and are not in the least, Unreasonable.

So I wonder today, why I received such horrible service from the Monroe Diner. I would NOT RECOMMEND the MONROE DINER to ANYONE who's looking for GOOD SERVICE AND GOOD FOOD. What threw me completely, was not so much the food, but the service of the rude waitress. The attitude, and the spiteful nature because I Was not ready to order, was really offensive. I would again tell people to AVOID THE MONROE DINER AT ALL COSTS. CERTAINLY NOT WORTH THE TIME OF DAY, UNLESS YOU WOULD LIKE RUDE, UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE AND HORRIBLE FOOD. Honestly, I would give this "Establishment" a Zero Star rating if I could (But Yahoo won't allow me to do so). I would recommend staying home and cooking for yourself, before even considering going out to this Dive.

It's a bit below average for a diner, we generally avoid it. Stick with the VERY basic things and you won't go too wrong. Avoid the entrees and other stuff that you would question ordering, they're not that terrific. Service is good. The owner is a very loud man who walks around yelling, has little regard for customers who are dining.

TeTerrible place food is garbage manager has a big attitude and when I went there me and the three other people I was with found hair and other unpleasant items in our food. There are plenty of other dinners around I would go to them first. O and on top of having those things in our food the manager would not refund our money and threatened to call the cops if we didn’t pay. What a Terrible place.
