I would not suggest using this company. The instructor was not very personable. He arrived 45 minutes late for the first lesson and made a personal stop with my son in the car. The second lesson he only kept my son for 45 minutes instead of the hour and took a call on his cell phone. When it came to the day of the driving test he did not want to pick my son up at the house because he said it was too far for him to drive. I had to meet him half way. He did however teach my son the correct way to parallel park and do a three point turn and my son passed the test.
I would try another place: I had my son age 16 get his driving lessons there. While he did learn how to drive, I found that the owner did not have a pleasant personality, and also did not communicate well with us. Appointments would be cancelled with little or no notice, a road test would be scheduled without checking first with us to see if we were available at that time. He was a competent instructor, but he just seemed too burned out and jaded to make the experience pleasant. I will be trying another place for my younger daughter when she comes of age...
It's the Instructor - Not the school: I had the privilege of learning to drive at Daytona with an Instructor named Janie Bellnap. She was great. She taught me so much, and was so understanding and patient with me. But the owner, Ray was mean. All he did was yell at me when I did something wrong and make me more nervous than I already was. Plus, Janie took me into all kinds of driving situations and taught me how to handle them. Ray just took me around the same town, over and over again.Janie actually made the experience alot of fun. She was very down to earth, friendly, easy to learn from and had a great sense of humor. So, if your'e taking lessons at Daytona, and you get stuck with Ray...(or the other mean guy) ask for Janie.
