Simply put: this is the oldest restaurant in the village of nyack. To be around for 45 plus years in the same location, with the same owners, than clearly they must be doing something right. ***Kitchen is closed on monday nights and the TRUE locals gather in the back to have booze and great music. Everyone brings instruments to play and the rest is history.
Its a great place-always has been always will be.
A bar with okay food...but lacks cleanliness.: Not bad for a bar-type of place, most of the food is pretty decent. Biggest problem there is that it is just not very clean. I'd hate to see what the kitchen looks like. This place has a very loyal clientele...the problem is that the owners are very 'clicky', and they can be very unfriendly to people they don't know.
Very fun Atmosphere: Fun atmosphere live music from some locals who play along together, and Great food Irish and great.

Go back to westchester where some chain restaurant can give you all that FAKE BS attention you deserve.
I can't stand places where the owners are "clicky" like you said. Clarksville Inn is like that. You are a second class citizen in their eyes. I have never been to O'donoghue's but will give it a try anyways. Hopefully you are wrong. The people in Nyack are usually friendly. Unless you are "prompter84"!!!
