A excellent place for sushi. Nice decor and friendly host and staff. A bit expensive for the county but its worth it especially the specials. If you are going, call for reservation or else you will have to wait for a long time.
Hands down my favorite sushi restaurant in New York. The service is impeccable, the fish is extremely fresh, the decor and ambiance is perfect. There is a reason Wasabi is always packed on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. The omakase are these wonderful small plates, larger than an appetizer but not quite an entree. Try the jalepeno yellowtail one, it's to die for. Their cooked entrees are delicious also, but I am partial to the sushi.
The Most Bland Sushi I Have Ever Eaten: First of all, let me tell you that the service in this restaurant was Excellent. The server that I had was polite, extremely attentive and very professional. If it were based only on service, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
But that is were it ends. I ordered a Shrimp Tempura roll, a Spicy Tuna Roll, A Spicy California Roll and one of the "Specialty" rolls. The rice was so everpowering that you could not even taste the small amount of fish or shrimp in the roll, The sushi was served very warm which can be dangerous when eating raw fish (the restaurant was moderately busy, but this is still no excuse to not keep raw fish cold.)
The other reviews say that this is the best Sushi that Nyack has to offer. I feel sorry for the people that frequent this restaurant if they believe that. While the service was wonderful, this is definitely the WORST sushi I have ever eaten.
