| About: | As soon as the words "Buona Sera" greet you at the door, you're in a place where the romantic country of Italy lives! We welcome you with a warm Italian "Ciao, come stai?" You're stepping into a European neighborhood where Italian movie posters, magazines and newspapers line the street. But what is most impressive about this authentic Italian corner is the aroma of tantalizing food that compliments its Tuscan atmosphere. Vespa's signature dishes include fresh marinated grilled baby calamari, daily homemade pastas that embrace their sauces, "Osso Buco" served with Risotto Milanese, Veal Chop and Rack of Lamb that tame your hunger. Not forgotten are the superb Chicken specialties, smooth Risotti and pillow-light Gnocchi or Pinci. Innovative specials are created daily, which reflect a variety of European classics and fresh fish. Vespa tries to accommodate any food dish. All this is accompanied by a uniquely Italian regional wine list. |

My husband and I come here as often as possible. Food is amazing! Romantic setting no matter what day of the week. They speak Italian, treat you like family and make everything themselves. The tiramisu is to die for.
Best For Lunch: Oh, I *love* the food here. I've been here for both dinner and lunch a number of times and it's *much* better mid-afternoon because it is only 25-35% occuppied. I *strongly* recommend your first time here be pre-dinner rush (before 6pm). This is an Italian restaurant where they speak (and think?) Italian. I suspect somebody's "momma" is in the back cooking. You won't leave hungry and the prices are reasonable for the community ($20-$30 entrée...I barely notice the prices...who cares when it's sooooo delicious?). Vespa is, at most, business casual and very unpretensious though professional. Service is attentive and friendly and I think they appreciate your efforts to pronounce the Italian fare correctly. Just the other day I sipped my espresso and then made some off-hand, joking remark about having my first espresso without Sambuca (it was a business lunch and didn't want to be the only one having spirits). The waiter must have heard my remark because he set a bottle of Sambuca on the table and said, "It's not really an espresso without Sambuca". Thank-you! I had to eat my meal without wine (host ordered mineral water for all)! Who eats Italian food without wine? What's the point of that?!?! That's like chewing your food and spitting it out! Obviously, the waiter saw my situation and gave me a break. They'll take care of you, I promise.
Our 5 Star Secret: I just made reservations for tonight for six and I'm already thinking about the menu. Two of our favorite dishes are the grilled baby squid and black linguini with seafood. (We also love the creamy riscotto special and osso bucco.) We love the feel of the main room and the decor of the "new" rooms--it feels like Italy. It can get noisy, but it sounds friendly--like everybody's having a great time.
My husband and I have been here many times. We have brought lots of family and friends with us and everyone wants to go back!! It's easier now that they have two new rooms. Thank you and see you tonight. Pat Ade
