Waterfront Crab House Business Overview

Edit Info

Company Information: Located in Long Island City, the Waterfront Crabhouse is a veritable institution serving up great seafood, steak, and pasta for nearly 30 years. The food alone is worth the trip, but another aspect that puts it over the top is the decor. The building is over 100 years old and full of nostalgia. As a virtual museum of odds and ends, one can spend hours staring at the crowded walls, adorned with everything imaginable from an old diving suit and Elvis memorabilia to boxing photos. Live music is played in some form almost every night. Reservations are recommended. - Wynne Boelt

The decor and area is excellent for a nice night out because it is right by the boardwalk and you get a beautiful view of Manhattan. The decor of the restaurant is really cool, memorabilia all over the walls unfortunately that is where it all ends.
Made a reservation and the hostess tells a few minutes which winds up being 30 minutes. What was the point of the reservation? The waiter's are in a rush so when they do come with food they kind of just throw the plate on your table, even dropping the plate on a lady at another table.
The entree took about 25 minutes to come and the rude waiter was not helpful in explaining the dishes to us. Overall all of this doesn't bother me just as long as the food is delicious.
I order a platter that had a lobster meat the size of an ice cube, salmon steak a little bigger than the lobster and 4 pieces of shrimp that were cut in half to give the appearance of 8 pieces. On top of that my date had undercooked pasta with ragu sauce. The food is expensive and certainly not worth it, I would stick with Red Lobster!!
