sweetieboo's favorite "nabe" sushi spot: the special at $10 is quite the value and satisfies the craving for an inexpensive sushi lunch. my seven-year-old is mad for sushi, so yamato has become a regular stop. add a small carafe of sake for $4 and i leave with a full belly and positively lightheaded -- ready for the saturday afternoon siesta. the service can be a little slow, but what's the hurry on the weekend. we like to treat ourselves to the handmade ice cream trio -- green tea, chocolate & vanilla lemongrass -- yummmy. just $5.
Always a winner: We walk down the street to good old Yamato every few weeks and are never disappointed. We usually get one sushi dish - the Dragon Roll is fantastic. We also get at least one entree. Our faves: duck breast, Brooke Sea Trout, Sesame Crusted Salmon.
The wines by the glass are quite decent and go great with the food.
If the weather is good, be sure to ask for a table in the garden.
We love this place! Consistently great and a very friendly staff.
