I went last night for the first time to Sugarcane. The girl at the door smelled horrible. She kept telling everyone the same thing, "I will have a table for you in 30 minutes" The place was packed and it felt like the heat was on. I almost passed out in there. This place is too small. A group of girls were waiting for a table before we got there.One girl asked the woman at the door what was going on with their table?, she said "your table will be ready in 30 minutes, the customer responded "I made reservations for 10", it was now 10:45pm. But the girl just ignored her. After standing over a mans food for about an hour we finally got a table. A young girl came to ask us if we was ready to order and we weren't. A guy came with water. Took our drink orders and he was back with in a minute. The girl took our order and some big muscular dudes served us. The shrimp with mango sauce was ok, you can tell that the shrimp wasn't seasoned. I ordered tamarind bbq salmon, which had no taste of bbq or tamarind. My friend ordered the plantain crusted snapper, and her bf had the jerk salmon. We all were disappointed with our food. He ordered the jumbie which is henny mixed with a whole lot of sorrel. She ordered the mango martini, which I tasted and it was disgusting. We got our bill and it was over $100, they decided to leave a small tip for the waitress. She came back with the receipt and the tip. So he asks her "why didn't you take the tip?" She told him the tip was too small and it was ok. She didn't do anything but take our orders and bring the bill. The guys did all the work. She was lucky that they decided to tip her cause I didn't. Bottom line is this place needs to be inspected. I didn't see anyone with any hair nets on and almost all the employees have lots of hair on their heads. Also the place is too small to have so many people crowding around the front door and the bar. I will never set foot in here again. I heard so many good things about this place but now that I have seen it for myself, I won't be returning.

Me and my friend went to sugar canes on friday The food was delicious and the drinks were also good Try the mango Mojito.
It a nice cozy atmoshphere great for girls night out or when your going on a Date.

I cant wait to take my mother: About a month ago i went to surgarcane with a friend when we got there it wasn't so crowded we waited about an hour for a table that was kind of annoying but afterwards when we were seated and ordered i felt better the callaloo and macaroni pie is to die for im not trini im belizean but it made me say ooooo GOD when it was time to leave it began to get very crowded i would love to introduce surgarcane to anyone if there looking for an island taste of things somewhere they can just lime bout and enjoy its a nice place but i think if they just expand it a little bit more it will be more comfortable seating wise.
