Company Information: Allan's on Nostrand Avenue makes tasty breakfast treats this side of New York. The family-run bakery has been around for a while and is one of the most sought-after establishments in the area. On weekends you are likely to find patrons queuing up for their goodies fix of currant rolls, baklava, coconut rolls, potato balls, beef patties, fruit punch and ginger beer. A cozy ambiance and delicious smells pervading the premises, this is a great place to take away some munchies and sweet treats for home. For a quick snack while on the run, Allan's is your best bet.

Hours of Operation: M 7:30am-7:30pm, Tu-F 7:30am-9pm, Sa 7:30am-8:30pm, Su 7:30pm-6pm

   I grew up on Allans bread and current rolls. I take my kids there to get meat pies. It is a part of the culture of Brooklyn. It was there before McDonals was famous.

   I grew up with Allans Bakery when I liveed in Brooklyn. The only way now for me to get some of my favorites is when my son comes from CT to Ohio and that is only once or twice a year. I can tell you everything they have is so great and fresh once you you try it you will alway want more. The only thing I don't like about them is: They don't ship. There should be a way to place an order well in advance and pay for everything over the phone. It's just not fair.

   BEST BUTTER BREAD IN BROOKLYN: WE BOUGHT ALLAN'S BUTTER BREAD AND SHARED IT WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND ALL RAVED ABOUT THE TASTE, SMELL, MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH, FRESHNESS, AND MAKES YOU WANT TO EAT MORE AND MORE. IT WAS AN ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE.
