Benihana - Westbury

Nothing beats the original. The show and presentation is much better at the manhattan location. However, Benihana remains one of my favorite restaurants. The show is nice. The atmosphere is great, sevice is excellent. We always have a good time. I recommend this restaurant

Founded by Rocky Aoki in the 1940’s, the Benihana Restaurants have been around for a long time. That doesn’t mean that they are old hat. They are still a lot of fun for families – especially the little ones. The kids will be enthralled sitting around the big grill watching their chef do an amazing presentation of cooking and knife skills. And when he flips that grilled shrimp into his chef’s hat – the kids will just shout in delight. This type of cooking, known in Japan as teppanyaki, is also called hibachi. This style of cooking is noted for the carmelization of the grilled food which makes it very tasty. Combine this with their wonderful seasonings and dipping sauces and you will have a treat for the whole family. The kids menu features “junior” portions of the teriyaki steak, chicken, hibachi chicken and beef , chicken and shrimp, or shrimp and beef combos. Everything comes with a choice of soup or salad, vegetables, rice, and ice cream. The restaurants also feature a sushi counter where diners can sample the freshest sushi. Adults can enjoy a variety of specialty drinks as well. We visited the new Benihana in Westbury for lunch and, while we were there, two kids’ birthday parties were going on and everyone was having a great time. The food is good, the prices are moderate, and the service was great..AND the place is totally handicapped accessible!
