Great cajun food: The food is great and authentic. The atmosphere is nice as well but can be very loud at times. Be prepared to wait on the weekend or during peak dinner hour, but it's worth it. They're honest with the spice -- when they say hot, they mean it.
Big daddys: the cajun food was pretty good. The Gumbo was superb and the house drinks are excellent. The only problem is,the price.I've eaten the same food for less else where.Great atmosphere though
The Best Little Restaurant On Long Island...: ....IF you love authentic cajun cuisine!! I have eaten at this restaurant numerous times, and never have I had an experience less than stellar! The menu changes daily, as they make all the items fresh. Usually, there is an amazing gumbo on the appetizer menu that is worth taking a quart home by itself! I can't really get into the menu items, because they do change all the time, but you can usually count various steak dishes, poultry dishes, seafood dishes, and pasta/rice dishes. Some items are blackend, grilled, or stuffed & baked. About 2/3 of the menu is spicy, appropriate for cajun cuisine, and the range runs from mild heat to full-on forehead drip! Add in a few hurricanes (careful, they will knock you on your rearend!), or Abita amber ales, throw on some cool cajun, jazz, blues, or zydeco on the sound system, and you are set for a fun, casual dining experience second to none! Appetizers usally range from $5.00-$9.00, and the entrees range from $18.00-$25.00. Be warned, though! The portions are always HUGE, and you WILL be bringing something home wrapped up to enjoy the next day! They accept cash, or AMEX only.
