Rude and Unprofessional!!!!!!!!!!!!!!: I am an Event Planner and last week hosted a Sweet 16 at The Manor East in Massapequa. Prior to the party, I was very taken back by the RUDENESS I recieved on the phone when I simply called to ask them to fax me a copy of the table layout. Upon arrival, I asked for the Matre D' because my client left decorations there for me to place in the appropriate areas of the room. No one could seem to FIND the Matre D' OR the decorations!!! Finally the Matre D' appeared...RUDER than ANYONE I have EVER met in this business! SHE could not figure out even a simple thing like where to set up the gift table, which took her about 45 minutes to figure out and have set up for me. She also could not find the decorations until 15 min. before the party was to begin! This was the most unorganized, unprofessional catering hall I have EVER dealt with! Not enough room here to mention ALL the horrors! One thing I DO feel the need to mention is this....This is the SECOND party I know of at the Manor East, where they presented a Sweet 16 Cake that was literally cracked in half!!! When I asked them how they could present a cake that was cracked in half for such a special occasion like a Sweet 16 where there will be a Candle Ceremony, their response was...oh it's no big deal...the cakes ALWAYS come cracked. They gave no credit and did not even care. They told me it should not be a big deal! Food was mediocre at best. Table linens were torn and dirty. I highly DO NOT recommend this place for ANY parties!!!!!! The people are so rude it is just amazing in this business!

The Manor East has been in business for over 33 years! Event planners come and go! Go more often then come. The reason why 33 years have transpired is because of the exact opposite of what was written. If the above person was capable of handleing her job as an event planner then none of the above would have taken place, as it is her job to ensure all is well prior to the event taking place. Contradiction number 2 is if this event planner knew of another event that was handled incorrectly why would she take someone's money and have another affair at a place that she felt was innappropriate? Sounds like sour grapes from another failed event planner that has no experience! We pride ourselves in 33 years of service and would compare that service with any other hall or event planner.
