The Three Village Inn has Great food especially at Thanksgiving. It is a beautiful restaurant.I have been to this restuarnt numerous times and I really like it there.
Attending a friend's wedding here recently on my first visit to L.I. Picturesque outdoor ceremony on the lawn was stunning, overlooking the harbor. The reception party room had the atmosphere of a middle school cafetorium, although the dining & dancing was quite elegant. Had a great time at this beautiful property.
What happened to the Three Village Inn?: The Three Village Inn is getting two stars this time around, one for the great service and one for the proximity to the water, always a favorite with me. But the other three stars are lacking after dinner last night. I was surprised to see that on this chilly evening the fireplace wasn't lit. Why have it if not to make the guests comfortable and cozy? The mantle had the oddest bunch of stuff over and on it that has ever been put together in a colonial establishment. I don't know what they were going for here. The large mirror and the vase of artificial flowers were definitively Japanese in style, with absolutely no relationship whatsoever to the colonial theme of the place. As much as I love to dine on or near the water, I despise artificial flowers in a nice restaurant, and these really cheapened the atmosphere. The entire interior had a grubby feel about it, and the oak flooring wanted cleaning or covering or something to make it presentable. Happily, there was a choice of (three) beer on tap. The breads brought forth consisted of one flavorless role and one cake twist (too sweet for this aspect of the meal), along with butter that would have been in a puddle on the dish but for the foil packets, it had cleary been standing out too long. I like my dairy refrigerated, don't you? It's a bacterial thing. I ordered lobster bisque as an appetizer and I cannot tell you what they brought me. It was an odd brown liquid served in the Inn's flowered colonial pattern soup bowl, with a white sauce spiral pattern that did not present well. The flavor was one of salt and thickeners, with no discernable lobster flavor or tidbits. This was followed by the entree, salmon, which was nicely prepared and delicately seasoned. Mashed potatoes and julienne vegetables complimented the fish. The dessert was chocolate cream pie, but without the chocolate punch it deserved to lend authenticity to the flavor. The cream was not the sweet indulgence expected. The servers were excellent, kudos to them, and they were well tipped. The place wants polishing, decorating and a new chef de cuisine, please.
