My husband and I have been going to Stony Brook Family Dentistry for over 5 years. We have NEVER had a problem with either dentist nor the rest of their staff. It has always been a pleasure to walk in and be greeted by name. The front desk staff is friendly and efficient with scheduling appointments. The dentists have always tried to accommodate their patients needs, taking breaks during a proceedure, using new techniques for their comfort and even turning the TV to the channel the patient wishes. Once, I had an accident on vacation which required some dental work upon my return home. Scheduling was hassle-free and I had my repairs done as quickly as I wanted them done. I would not have gone anywhere else for the dental work! That is why my whole family goes to Stony Brook Family Dentistry.
I Highley Recommend Dr Baum! If you are looking for painless care done right, I can tell you from personal experience that this is the dentist to see. Last week I had 3 cavities fixed with a laser -Dr. Baum told me it would be painless and I did not even need a shot...he was right! I wish my childhood dentist did it like that! I think Dr. Baum is caring, gentle and a great dentist. Thankyou for the excellent care, see you in 6 months -dani
Never again. Save your co-pay and find a dentist who is happy to have you and your family visit his practice. I have never left a doctor's office so flustered and offended.

UNFAIR REVIEW; PLEASE READ: this womanâs young child came to us crying and screaming, due to prior experiences elsewhere. â¦except for an exam; he was not treated by us. We have great success treating phobic children and adults. She simply refused to pay for the care he would need, and chooses this forum to disparage us. Her poor attitude toward dentists and dental care is in fact the reason her son has such problems. We are proud of how we can make fearful and phobic patients comfortable and also provide quality care. We provide several methods of sedation and are always gentle and caring. These appointments do take longer and require that we provide our full attention to them. In order for us to provide this personalized attention and treat each patient properly, we ask for a deposit when scheduling these longer appointments. This mother refused to leave a deposit towards this appointment and became extremely irate and belligerent when asked to do so. Weâre sorry she did not like this, but this allows us to avoid overbooking, which has become standard in most offices, which is why you usually sit in a doctorâs waiting room for an hour or more! We do not have this situation and believe our patients deserve better treatment. Our office treats everyone with respect and provides care that we believe is second to none!
