User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI have a 2001 Honda Accord and it had transmission trouble. My friend told me to use F&J Transmissions and I did. Frank checked it out and found out that my car transmission was under warantee with Honda!! He hooked me up with Huntington Honda and they replaced my transmission at no charge! He saved me over $3000! I tried to pay Frank for his time invested and he refused any $$ - He just asked me to tell all of my friends & family to use him for auto repair. User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsAt first F&J seemed like a great family owned and operated business. One I could trust and rely on. We trusted them enough to buy a mini van from them and have it serviced by them as well. Getting ready for a trip we had F&J fix the heating fan switch that never worked for us. announcing to them we would be taking a trip they said they would go over the entire vehicle. To be certain it would do well on the trip. After charging us $340 for a switch. We picked up the vehicle only to break dowm 4 hours away from home with a timing belt and pump. Now I realize the car was used but! It was all we had and all we could afford and we TRUSTED them. Later we found out the switch should have cost us about 4o dollars. The timing belt was replaced along with the pump and plus labor did not cost as much as the heating fan switch cost at F&J. When explained to another professional the only thing they would say was I am sorry. Live and Learn

Where on earth did James get this timing belt done,becaues the book time without parts is 5 hours and most transmission shop's like mine charge $88 an hour.Most automotive shops are $60 an hour.There is a big difference between a backyard or bottom feeder mechanic and a ASE certified transmission technician.Even at $60 an hour that's 300 without parts,lights,overhead.Now did you get good parts or aids auto parts.There it is,you get what you payed for,used is what ? Well used.I run a big shop in Plattsburgh NY and here to tell you Frank did nothing wrong,Good work isnt cheap,cheap work isnt good.Frank may charge top dollars,but you get the best work.
