Review a High School?: You've got to be kidding me...
Anyway, since the reunion's coming up tonight, I might as well go all school spirit. Go Lions!
While my overall school experience wasn't all that great thanks to it being a school full of cliques, the staff and faculty were mostly nice. I didn't have many teachers that I had trouble with. I just wish the social scene had been a bit less hair-raising, for lack of a better PG-13 term.
However, I did get very involved in a lot of clubs and things after school during my junior and senior years. Kickline, BUTY, plays... and I took chorus every year despite not really getting along well with Ms. Levine.
Yes, Longwood is a public school, for those of you who prefer private or home schooling, but I got through it and I think I came out pretty okay. Tired of school, I had moved away from it completely after trying college for a while. I later went back to college, and I honestly thinking my experiences at college shaped who I am more than my experiences in high school.
Pride: My name is Jose A. Flores class of 95' I would just like to say that I'm proud of being a graduate of Longwood HS it was a great impact on my life. I was residing in the Shrader House Group Home. The staff members of the group home and the school where both a factor in the type of man that I am today. After graduating I went to Puerto Rico to sowe my oats and learn about my family History that was also a great experience. After that I joined the Army and got a diferent look at life, after ending my contract with the Army I stayed in Georgia where I was stationed last. Following that I started working for the government as a tank mechanic. When my contract ended I went to Afganistan to purify water (which is the job i did in the Army) for the US government in support of the war on terror and thats where I am now. I would like to say that I wouldn't be making an exceptional living in an interesting situation if it wasn't for the efforts of the staff members of the group home and the school instilling morals values and most importantly integrity. So I send special thanks to you all. I would like to also add that I loved participating and playing on the football, and wrestling team of the Longwood Lions.
