Mama Lisa

We have been eating at Mama Lisa since 2003. In all those years of eating at Mama Lisa, whether it's been for lunch or dinner we have never been disappointed. We are Italian and when we go out to eat Italian food we look for a place that can satisfy our taste buds. Mama Lisa has definitely done that for us. It is hard to find a place like Mama Lisa, the staff is accommodating, friendly and the food is great. We have found that Mama Lisa is the only Italian resturant that we really enjoy in the Shirley/Mastic area. We like the food so much so that we've had our daughter's engagement party catered from Mama Lisa. Everyone loved the food, right down to our most picky eaters. They all asked where we got the food from? Of course we said "Mama Lisa". We've even ordered a few 5 foot hero's from Mama Lisa for parties that we've had, we've ordered 5 foot hero's to take to superbowl parties. Again everyone loved them, no complaints. We have had friends stay with us for a few days, we took them to Mama Lisa. Now everytime they come to visit, they want to go back to Mama Lisa to enjoy everything (food, music, & friendly atmosphere). We never leave there hungry. The potions are plenty, and we almost always take food home with us. Keep up the good cooking and we will keep coming back!

Well , I’ve been going to Mama Lisa’s for a few months now on the same Monday for their pasta-night specials, and you become well aware of new customers when you dine in frequently. I will say I as well with my wife were there at the time this man below me with his wife and daughter were there that Monday. I can recognize through his comments because we overheard his fuss over his food (like you read in his review)when we noticed the waitresses addressed his problem without hesitance and asked politely to exchange his food( keeping in mind I’m only two tables away)I can assure you I noticed some peculiar behavior. The wife ordered the penne ala vodka and it was hers and her daughter who shared. He did not eat that portion and how is it that he could say something about food which he did not taste nor ordered. How is someone to comment on something simple as garlic bread when the restaurant makes it a certain way and you order it back, to change it, is the restaurant at fault because of your simple lack to know cheese comes on top of it? As for the waitresses their service is superb. Ten tables? for two girls. Sir would he like a waitress for every table. The service was fine and we could see that they circle around and ask everyone if everything is alright and politely assist you with any of your needs. In this case it seems like this man’s competence came up short. Food is cooked to perfection and it is fine Italian food. To me it seems like someone is looking to be a "free-loader" and cause problems to get a free meal or two. If the food was terrible, why would your family ask for the left over’s to bring home and stay a while longer. Now we all don’t have the same taste buds, but they have the best Italian food money can buy, but one mans reckless comment shouldn’t damage the wonderful reputation this restaurant has built.

THE BEST ITALIAN FOOD ON LI!!!! We eat there at least 3-4 times monthly and have NEVER been anything but delighted!! The food is superb, the staff is great and other than the fact that they need more room, there is absolutely nothing bad that can be said about Mama Lisa's!!
