and now the rest of the story that wasn't acknowledged. i felt really bad and apologized a number of times. i sent the child the special gift that i had bought for the party and i offered the mother a free party for the following year. none of which were acknowledged. after 20 + years something like this is bound to happen and has to others. too bad we don't live in a perfect world.
