Video Visions is our favorite local vendor. They have a long history of providing great movies for rental. Their selection is not made up of 50 copies of each "fad" movie. Instead, the owner is always looking for ways to diversify his collection. This huge collection is organized very well, and there is a carry-along guide that works like a card catalog. No more searching for a movie for hours.
The atmosphere is a friendly one, and is kid and dog friendly. They do have Labradors in the store, which are very well socialized and love kids. The employees are always trained well (unlike the lackadaisical employees you find elsewhere) and are exceedingly friendly. Many customers get trapped in conversation for long periods of time somewhere in the store.
They also provide Video Transfer and Duplication services, which are so inexpensive as to make you feel guilty for using them. They do all the conversion stuff from PAL and SECAM to NTSC, and they also rent camcorders and sell blank tapes (which is convenient for me as I do not own one). They usually have a few DVD players and Combo VHS/DVD players in the front of the store, in case yours broke. Speaking of broken equipment, they are very helpful in examining such things to see if there is a simple fix.
They have popcorn on the weekends (special popcorn during Holidays) and soda in a cooler. They have Candy bars, and pop-at-home popcorn, which gets stuck in my teeth (my only complaint!). They also have a large selection of old Disney movies which you cannot usually find anywhere else. The owner is also a knowledgeable fellow who can answer many non-video related questions (including life questions) and knows the area very well.
In short, they should just move the Town Hall to Video Visions. It's the center of Chatham life, anyway.
Heather should work in a correctional facility - she has the WORST personality and is always miserable and doesn't feel at least worthy of the customers. Also, the dogs in the store all the time is rather disgusting

This sounds like someone who hit on Heather and was politely rejected. Heather has worked there for years, and has helped us find great movies to watch many times. Also, most customers appreciate the friendly atmosphere amplified by the very friendly dogs. It shows that they care about their pets and don't leave them home alone all day.
