The food here is fine, the few times I've been there. However, I must write about a bizarre experience I had there a few years back, after which I never returned. I had dinner with my girlfriend, and after paying the check we got up to leave. An elderly man, clearly drunk, then confronted us and demanded that we return the bottle of wine we had stolen (the restaurant is one of those places that has bottles of wine on wall racks throughout the premises). This accusation was particularly hard to understand as it was early fall, and neither of us had large coats, bags, nor anything else with which to hide a supposedly stolen bottle of wine. I asked the hostess if he was joking and she said no, he was the owner (I have no idea if this was true), and he was serious. I invited the seemingly inebriated, red-faced fellow to search us, assured him that we'd stolen nothing, and invited him to call the police if he disagreed. After a quite frankly embarassing stand-off, he backed down, as it was clear that he was completely, utterly incorrect.
The whole event was bizarre, uncomfortable and embarassing. If it was a joke it was in incredibly bad taste. Again, the food here is fine and otherwise I've had no complaints but I will never, ever go there again.
What a great Sunday brunch: We went for Sunday brunch with 8 adults and 2 kids and they were able to accommodate us. Try the banana pancakes and petit fours! They also had a kids' price for the brunch, whereas other places haven't. Enjoy yourself, but be prepared to ask someone to roll you out the front door!
Most popular restaurant around: It doesn't look that big from outside, but they can seat a couple hundred inside, and every Saturday night it is PACKED. It's quite a marvel to see them serving so many, so efficiently. It's just a nice restaurant with a good menu, good food and reasonable prices. Nothing too fancy inside, and it can be cramped. But it feels happy and friendly.
