The Boat House is located at the Shady Harbor Marina and sits right on the Hudson River. During warm weather you can get a deck table with a view of the Hudson. The inside dining area is spacious and well laid out. Either inside or out, the atmosphere is very good.
The menu covers a range of fare, from gormet burgers to unique entrees. Hard to describe, but definitely upscale. The appitizers are great. I love their stuffed mushrooms! Prices are moderate to somewhat expensive.
It did not rate five star because its biggest drawback is its slow service. Once you order, be prepared to stay there a while. There is no excuse for such slow service. Don't go there if you have a schedule to keep. Once the order does arrives, you will likely find it to be very enjoyable.

Sometimes the food is good, but it's not consistant. I have eaten there on several occasions. But Larry is right about the lay out and the slow service. Their Sunday buffet isn't that good. The food seems to sit out for awhile at room temp. wheather it is 68 or 98.
