What a hidden treasure! I have been camping for 20 years and loved this site. We cooled off in the Esopus River, had plenty of firewood thanks to Sleepy Hollow and a great time was had by all. Tubing, Fishing, Hiking, We had it all. Beautiful and clean campsites right on the river, what a peaceful way to sleep under the stars! We will be back!!
I've been going to Sleepy Hollow for over 15 years, and I love it.A beautiful spot in "the country" not much more than 2 hours from the city. It's a clean, quiet, comfortable campground where fishing, hiking, antiqueing, and siteseeing are all local activities.
The owners are friendly, courteous, and helpful in every aspect of your visit.
So bring your tent,or bring your trailer, and have a great time at SLEEPY HOLLOW. And now...they got wi-fi!!!!!.so come on you webheads you can have fun too!!! I'm typing from one of the picnic tables right now!!
The whole Gale clan is fantastic! From Wyatt to Wanda, to Sina, Trevor, and the other one, these people rock. We went as a group of three girls, and Wyatt made sure we were settled and comfy- he even made sure we got a fire going! What a gem! Oh and definitely check out the Phoenicia diner- it's about 1/4 mile or less up the road. Harvey's booth rocks!!! Also make sure to hike up mount Tremper- it is a killer but it's banging. And then go tubing at the Town Tinker and say hi to the dude with the unicorn tattoo on his shoulder. Yay Phoenicia!
