The food is extremely over priced. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks.
we are big fans of mexican radio in manhattan so had to try this one when we spent the weekend in hudson recently. superb, just like down in the city. warm, comfortable, good vibes, great food, fantastic drinks. we liked it so much in fact, actually ate here 3 times when we were in town, lunch, brunch & dinner. at dinner we were a large group with kids and chaos and the waitress was amazingly attantive and kind to us and really went out of her way to please the kids (and did!) who are a bit picky about food, especially spicy stuff. really sweet. Beautiful restaurant, you almost feel like you have been transplanted to the city restaurant, clever! Go Mexican Radio!
I eat here often, at least twice a month.
The pros:
- Consistently great food. I have had everything on the regular menu except for the Baja Fish Tacos (I don't eat cooked fish) as well as many of the specials and have NEVER been disappointed. The many out of town visitors I have entertained here agree. This is some of the best Mexican you can get in the northeast.
- Great drinks. Whether you're up for a flight of Tequila, an excellent margarita, or just the mango lemonade, you will not be disappointed.
- Pleasant atmosphere and ambiance. You'll always feel welcome and comfortable eating here.
The con:
- Widely varying service. Somewhat endemic to this area - help is hard to find and keep. While I haven't kept tally, I know I wouldn't be far off saying I see a new face each time I'm here. Sometimes the service is great. Other times, like this evening, I walked in at 5:30 and didn't get out until 8:00. Most of that time was spent waiting for the main course. By observing the other diners and their service, I am certain it wasn't the kitchen but rather our waitress. I should note that I've never had a bad experience, it's just that the wait staff is very often new
Bottom line, there are abundant fine places to eat in Hudson. If you crave EXCELLENT Mexican while being tolerant of the occasional slow service, Mexican Radio is a meal to experience!
