I have been a patient of Dr. Mangiaracina for about 6 years. I have a very complicated medical history and continue to be chronically ill. My medical status fluctuates and requires doctors/surgeons to really consider different ways of looking at my case for evaluation and treatment. My medical situation can quickly turn life threatening, so being able to have faith and trust in my doctors/surgeons is a true gift. I have searched for care throughout the U.S., which included some of the finest hospitals in our country. Out of nearly 80 doctors/surgeons, 'stays' in 17 or so different hospitals, Dr. Mangiaracina is by far one of the top 5 favorites, who I trust. I ask other doctors/surgeons, when situations arise that require a decision, if you were me, what would you do? I never ask Dr. Mangiaracina that question, because I trust him and I
think that is just an automatic consideration and thought process that occurs to him. I am very grateful to him and lack the words to express my appreciation. He is able to combine his strong, sound knowledge of medincine along with good communication skills. He is very good at being understanding and empathizing with your situation with kindness, compassion, and support regardless of the information he needs to communicate. He has never been intimidating, patronizing, or judgmental of my life situation, which is a direct result of my health. It is obvious he got into medicine for all the right reasons and never lost sight of it. It is clear that he has given great consideration to areas such as respect, dignity, humility, and empathy. Dr. Mangiaracina will most likely surpass what most patients expect, because he is skillful in so many different levels of practicing medicine. You can expect an honest doctor/patient relationship with Dr. Mangiaracina. One, you and your family can turn to and trust. Dr. Mangiaracina is also great about referring 'you' out to specialists as needed. In the past, I have experienced doctors who have attempted to evaluate/treat areas which really required a point of view from a specialist. This has been a problem especially when I needed specialized care from a caregiver, that did not require as much education as the physician. In the same breath, Dr. Mangiaracina does not over refer and 'waste' money, nor does he distance himself from your case and your problem(s). If he refers you out, he follows up with the results that come back to him. You of course have to be responsible and make sure you get the info./reports back to him! I have a background in working in both business and healthcare. After becoming ill, I returned to school to obtain a degree in speech pathology (evaluating/treating speech/language, communication and swallow disorders for 10 years). I mention my background, so readers will have a better understanding of my review. I hope other patients will share their experiences with as many physicians/surgeons as they can. It helps everyone in the long run, patient, doctors and surgeons alike. I am hopeful that other doctors/surgeons will strive to reach the level and skill that Dr. Mangiaracina provides, with factors such as empathy, respect, and dignity being a very important part of the care plan.
