Piccolo Paese

I found that Piccolo Paese is very overpriced for the food that you receive. Service was Ok but had to ask more than 3 times for drinks. Also the portions are extremely small and the food is just not that good for the money. I mean please, $12.00 for 6 tiny baked clams for an appetizer, please, give me a break-they were just OK. Fried calamari tasted like it was frozen and they had the nerve to charge $9.00 for 15 pieces of squid-What a discrace. (Squid is not that expensive) Not great food by any stretch of the imagination. Also specials are very overpriced-ordered black bass special and it was $38.00. Piece of fish was tiny and just Ok-what do they think they are in Manhatten with these prices! This is one place that you pay more and get less. I have been there twice, thinking that maybe the first time was a fluke- but second visit was worse than the first time. Also the owner and especially the Matre Di need a serious attitude adjustment-both were extremely rude more than once on both visits to the restaurant. I cannot believe that this restaurant is still open with these prices and quality. I definitely would not go back EVER and not recommend this restaurant to anyone- it was a big ripoff!

We ate there this weekend and the food was outstanding! Not just good for the area but great period! We were a table of 3 and I was able to sample each and one was better than the other. However the service was terrible. The waitress was not well versed on the menu, rude when asked questions, forgot to put in our order causing a 1 1/2 delay between sitting down and having the meal, and put in the wrong order resulting in a meal having to be returned causing an additional delay. Really unaccecptable and then when you consider the price, could be enough to ruin the night. That being said when we return to the area we will give it another chance because the food was very good and hopefully service will be better.

Moved away from the area about 3 years ago. We sure do miss the place and have not been able to find anything close to it around here!
