Lox of Bagels

The only reason I go back on occasion is the quality of the bagels. The service is usually terrible - nearly everytime I stop there, I leave frustrated. I generally stop to purchase a dozen bagels to go (which should be a rather quick and easy transaction)- however the method in which customers are handled is crazy. There are generally about 4 people working the counter, and here is a typical scenerio: Let's say I am customer # 5, in line waiting my turn - - - Customer # 1 orders a breakfast egg bagel sandwich - the clerk takes the order and leaves to go cook the egg & meat sandwich. Customer # 2 orders 2 breakfast egg bagel sandwiches - that clerk takes the order and goes to the grill to cook that order. Customer # 3 - same as customer # 2 - and now that 3rd clerk is also standing at the grill waiting for eggs etc to cook........ by now - I assume you get the idea - - - frankly wouldn't it make sense to have one person run the register and take orders - one person cooking at the grill, and perhaps the other 2 clerks doing some of the grunt work such as baging bagels - getting coffee - etc.
I kid you not - one day - there were 5 clerks standing at the grill waiting for the items to cook - while the line of customers stood still. No one else was being waited on - regardless of what they were there for that morning.
Obviously, at any business eveyone has to wait their turn - however - but due to poor managment - the wait is always far longer than it needs to be. In a nutshell, were it not for the fact they serve a quality product - I would not go there again.

Best bagels you can get anywhere. The lox is delicious. The workers are friendly and quick. Definitely worth it to stop and have a nice lunch.
