Knoll, G Stephen DDS - First Advantage Dental

Unfortunately, I have had similar problems with Dr. Knoll’s dental work as Dianne described in her posting and I definitely agree with her assessment of this dentist’s poor clinical care. My comments here are directed to “CharlieS207” who clearly has raised some issues about who he is: “Commentator” or “Reviewer” ??
“CharlieS207” clearly contradicts himself in his two postings (both posted on 5/8/09).
As a “Commentator” CharlieS207 writes that he has been a patient of Dr. Knoll for almost all of his life but he contradicts himself in his other posting, where CharlieS207 poses as a “Reviewer” when he writes that he is “new” to the Saratoga area and is looking for a good dentist. So, which one of these two statements is the truth?? It is obvious that these are two flawed attempts to cover up for Dr. Knoll’s poor dental work and to deceive the public.
In this site, patients should feel free to express their views and not be subjected to ridicule by other readers for their expressed opinions like CharlieS207 is doing with Dianne. This is wrong. Apparently, CharlieS207 is experiencing issues with dual personality which is affecting the credibility of his two postings.

Dr. Knoll has been my dentist for almost all of my life and I have nothing but great things to say about him. He’s always been courteous and respectful to me and my family. I’ve had many different types of procedures done from crowns and bridges to the simplest filling and I’ve NEVER had any problems. He has never tried to overcharge or fix something that wasn’t broken. Dr. Knoll and his staff have always been helpful and I’ve NEVER seen him mistreat any of his staff. I’ve heard horror stories about other dentist’s in the area and I’m glad that I’ve never had to personally experience any of them. I would like to thank Dr. Knoll and the hygienists for their great work and their dedication to their craft.

As a side note, it seems like the person below me had a tough time with Dr. Knoll but I feel like berating a doctor and basically trying to ruin his reputation is not only childish and immature but it speaks loudly about the type of patient you are.

I have to report my terrible experience with Dr. Knoll. He told me that I needed a crown on one of my back teeth and that he could have it ready before I went on my vacation in 3 weeks. Well...this did not work out well at all.

He cemented the crown on my tooth 2 weeks later and told me to have fun on my vacation. Well, this crown fell out during my vacation and I had to find another dentist to recement it. This dentist told me that it didn't look right and that I should have my first dentist (Dr. Knoll) check it when I returned home.

I returned to Dr. Knoll's office after my trip and he said that everything "looked fine." He was so WRONG!! It fell out again within a month. I have several other crowns which had been placed by other dentists and I never had any trouble plus, I don't eat sticky food which could pull my crown loose. Dr. Knoll insisted that this was MY PROBLEM and that he would recement it ....AGAIN.

When this crown fell out AGAIN (within 3 weeks) I went to a new dentist who specializes in crowns. He told me that my tooth was not prepared right by Dr. Knoll and that is why my crown kept falling off. He said that I needed a procedure called a crown lengthening because Dr. Knoll had tried to cement a crown onto a tooth that he had cut down too short - this had been the cause of my problem. I took this new specialist's advice and within 6 weeks I had a beautiful new crown that doesn't fall out.

I'll NEVER return again to Dr. Stephen Knoll's office. He is a very poor dentist who doesn't know how to prepare a tooth for a crown and who doesn't really care about his patients - I also observed that he treats his staff very poorly. Stay away from this dentist!!
